The operation lasted over 50 hours and involved 25 firefighting units, including the Fire Rescue Brigade of the Central Bohemian Region, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Emergency Medical Service of the Central Bohemian Region, and other units of the integrated rescue system. The operation took place in steep and difficult terrain under temperatures exceeding 30 °C. D hoses, aerial equipment, drones, and all-terrain vehicles were deployed for effective suppression. Emergencies Managed at EU Level 2025
In July and August 2025, the European Union faced record-breaking wildfires affecting over one million hectares, especially on the Iberian Peninsula. The Union Civil Protection Mechanism was activated sixteen times, deploying aerial and ground rescEU resources, including eighteen aircraft and four helicopters from ten member states. For the first time, Czech firefighters participated in the EU prepositioning program in Greece, supporting firefighting and monitoring. Experiences from this challenging season highlight the need for a robust Union Civil Protection Mechanism and rescEU capacities for effective international response.

Education in the Emergency Planning Zone of the State Enterprise DIAMO
The Fire Rescue Brigade of the Liberec Region used the obligation to inform residents in the emergency planning zone of the state enterprise DIAMO as an opportunity for educational activities. The program focused on children and seniors in collective facilities such as schools, educational, social, and healthcare institutions, as well as on the staff who také care of them. Participants learned safety rules in case of a release of hazardous chemical substances and general procedures to prepare for a possible evacuation.
